Ca’Liza
Once in a life one needs to take a giant leap of faith and C’aliza was ours.
My husband, Orjan, and I are both students of classicism and with our life-long friendship with Teofilo Victoria and Maria de la Guardia, the famous classical architect dynamos from Miami, a masterpiece of a house was something of an inevitability.
So when we decided to take the sliver of perfection, an Old Fort lot, 500 ft long lot, 75 ft wide the whole process started.
I asked Teofilo to design a chic pavilion-style house. Teo replied, “You have 75 ft, you can have a box”.
What we got was so beautiful. Andrea Paladio’s masterpiece Villa Pisani. We covered it in coral... 36 containers full from the same quarry Oscar de la Renta revived to build his house in the DR. The 400 ft long driveway was intentionally made 8 ft wide and surrounded by cultivated jungle and royal palms...the whole house felt 200 old the minute is was finished!
OHHHH Ca’Liza, you are perfect, my friend.
